For contributors
Contribution terms
Effective 10 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-10
Thank you for considering sharing your experience with the AI for Educators community. Contributing is entirely optional — you are always welcome to simply read and learn. These plain-language terms explain what happens when you choose to contribute, and the permissions you give when you do.
The three ways you can contribute
There are three separate kinds of contribution, and the terms below apply to each:
- Teacher stories — you describe a problem you faced, the process you followed, the tools you used, the outcome, and the limitations or cautions you noticed. You may optionally include screenshots. You are not required to upload any source code, systems, logins or the underlying files you used — a story is about the experience, not the machinery behind it.
- Classroom resources — practical materials such as prompts, short guides, checklists, teaching documents or useful links.
- The staffroom — a short written response to the current discussion question.
Ownership stays with you
You keep ownership of everything you contribute, subject to any rights your employer or a third party may already hold in it. By contributing you confirm that you are entitled to share the material — that it is your own work, or that you have permission from whoever does own it (for example your school, or the creator of a tool or resource you are passing on).
The permission you give us
When you submit a contribution you grant AI for Educators a non-exclusive permission to store it, review it, and — if it is approved — publish it to signed-in members with the credit you agreed during review. “Non-exclusive” means you remain free to use and share your own work however else you wish; you are not signing it over to us.
Separately, and only if you choose to, you can give an optional permission for a short excerpt or a screenshot to appear in public previews or promotional material (for example on the landing page). This permission is off by default and is asked for on its own — approving a contribution for members does not make it public.
Review before anything is published
Every contribution reaches a private editorial queue first. Nothing you send is visible to members or the public unless it is reviewed, approved and published by the editor. Your contribution will be reviewed before publication, and it may be declined.
During review we may make minor changes — formatting and spelling fixes. Anything more substantial, which would change the meaning of what you wrote, is made only with your approval.
Correcting, amending or removing a contribution
You can ask for a contribution to be corrected, amended or taken down at any time by contacting us. We will remove it from the site promptly. Please understand the practical limit of this: once a resource or screenshot has been viewed or downloaded by another member, we cannot recall copies that already left the site. Removing it here stops further sharing from here, but it cannot undo a download that has already happened.
Use in paid programmes
Reading, sharing and contributing on this site are free. If your contribution were ever to be used in a paid programme or training, that would require your separate, written permission — it is not covered by the permission you give for the free community here.
Classroom resources: the licence you choose
For a resource that is your own work, you choose one of two permissions when you submit it:
- Share unchanged — other educators may use and print it as-is.
- Share and adapt — other educators may also adapt it for their own setting.
Both permissions allow fellow educators to use and print the resource for teaching, and to share it within their school’s own restricted platforms — including fee-paying schools — and your chosen credit is always kept. Neither permission allows the resource to be sold, redistributed publicly, or used in paid training without your separate agreement.
If you share a resource created by someone else (for example a link or an external tool), it stays under that creator’s original terms, and you should only share what those terms allow.
These resource licences apply only to the resource you are submitting. They do not apply to teacher stories or to screenshots — those keep the separate permissions you gave when you submitted them.
Resource files are accepted as PDF or Word documents only.
The staffroom
When you answer the current staffroom question, your response reaches the same private review queue. You decide whether it may be shown to signed-in members, and whether we may quote it in an editorial follow-up — both are asked for on the form, and quoting in a follow-up is only done with your permission.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new version applies to contributions made afterwards. We do not retrospectively apply expanded permissions to contributions you already made under earlier terms — the permissions you gave at the time are the ones that stand. We record which version of these terms was in force when you contributed.
Approval is not certification
Editorial approval means a contribution is appropriate to share here. It is not a technical certification of accuracy, security or suitability for your particular classroom. Please check any resource or idea before relying on it.
Community guidelines
All contributions are also subject to our community guidelines, which set out what may and may not be shared.

Version history
- 10 October 2026 (v2026-10-10) — Rewrote the privacy notice to describe the service accurately (public browsing vs free membership, contributions, moderation records, who sees what, service providers and international processing, data-subject rights).
